LOCAL RULE "CALL UP HOLE" (2ND HOLE)
by Peter Chivers @ 08:44 AM, 21st Dec 2022Recently questions have been raised in relation to the procedures to be followed in respect of the Call Up on the second hole. This article is to again set out the Local Rule in relation to this hole. This Local Rule commenced on the 22 July 2021 and was extensively advertised and published at the time, however it is now reproduced to remind members and clarify the procedures to be followed. This rule set out below was introduced with the permission of the Board of Directors and must be strictly observed.
* Any player not standing behind the erected safety fence will face disqualification from the event.
* Players must remain behind the safety fence until all following players have teed off even if players hit a second or subsequent ball after putting a ball in the dam.
* Signs erected on the tee stating that it is a call-up hole and that all players MUST stand behind the safety fence once reaching the green and prior to calling up the following group.
* Signage erected on the safety fence adjacent to the green setting out that players MUST stand behind the safety fence and that persons disobeying this directive will be disqualified.
All players are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure this rule is complied with and we look to the 'Low Marker" in each group to ensure his playing partners comply.
NOTE: If a player decides to hit up the side and not over the dam then this player must wait until the green is cleared prior to playing his second shot.
