Dear Men’s Golf Members,
As many Men’s Golfers appear to be aware, there was an error in the awarding of prizes for the Men’s Golf competition held on Saturday 29th June. The prizes awarded were altered to reflect the number of players in each grade. Prizes for A and B grades were inflated and the prize for C grade was reduced. This “change in prizes for grades” was one of numerous strategies recently raised within the Committee to address the issue of discrepancy in the number of members playing in each grade. However, this strategy and others have yet to be approved and instigated by the Committee. The strategy used on Saturday was employed in error as it was used prior to a vote and before proper oversight and consultation.
In this respect we advise that the prizes for C grade in the competition will be increased to the level of the prizes awarded to A and B grade prize winners on the day. Prizes awarded for future Men’s Golf competitions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will be the same for all grades. Any future changes to the awarding of prizes will be discussed within the committee and communicated to all members prior to any change.
The Men’s Golf Committee trusts that this will satisfy the concerns of members.
Daniel Jachimowicz (Captain) Ken Brunker (Secretary).
