What a month with severe winds bringing down trees and creating a mess all over the course. We have been busy with the blower, sweeper and mulcher as well as handraking around the course on top of cutting up and burning fallen trees and limbs . There are still areas that need to be cleaned up and we will do bits in between our regular maintenance and setting up of the course. The greens are good, firm and quick at the moment and we have applied a wintergrass seedhead retadent to them to keep the surface clean. With the Mens championships in a couple of weeks they should play well. The boys have concreted another 68metres of path from the 7th tee along the 6th rough, and weather permitting we should be able to join the path at the tee end of the 6th fairway to the path at the green end in the next month. We will construct a safety fence at the new path near the 6th green to protect golfers from stray balls off the 7th tee. Thanks John
