OCTOBER REPORT 2024 Most of the month has been spent clearing the course of leaves and sticks from all the windy weather we have been having. And with the sweeper out of action waiting for new parts, this has made it challenging. We have also concreted a significant amount of pathing at the second green and third tee area. The boys have also excavated and formed up a path leading from the 14th green to the 15th tee which will be concreted after we do another 30m3 at the 3rd tee area. The old tar and roadbase that was excavated from the 2nd/ 3rd area has been used to build up our road through the 14th and 18th roughs. The greens have been sprayed with a fungicide and a wintergrass retardent leading up to our renovations which we hope to have completed by Thursday 17th, but with the recent wet weather we might be delayed. We cored the greens with 5/8in tynes to remove the thatch build up and fertilized with a complete NPK fertilizer. We now aim to fill the core holes with new fine sand to firm them up. The tees have been fertilized to boost them along into spring and also help the recovery from the Championships held over the last three weeks. One of our main pumps in the pump shed at the first dam lost its prime and ran hot over a week ago causing the internal workings to disintergrate. I have ordered new parts and these should be here this week and we will have it up and running again for the hot weather ahead. Thanks John
